Children need physical exercise, so PE is part of the school timetable. In summer, games
are usually played outdoors, and in winter in the school gym, or a nearby sports hall. Most children learn to swim at a very early age. It's an essential skill in a country where there is so much water! Ice skating is another accomplishment that children tend to pick up early - either at the local skating rink or on frozen lakes and canals.
